Dogfish Shark Dissection Zoology | Biology 3-D Anatomy Paper Dissection Model & Lesson
Product Details

Sink your teeth into science with this Shark Dissection Model from Inside Out Science — a jaw-some, humane way to explore shark anatomy and physiology without the mess (or the bite!). With roots in Getting Nerdy, this 3-D paper shark anatomy and dissection model brings marine biology to life in a way that’s hands-on, eco-friendly, and budget-conscious.

This detailed shark dissection model lesson includes a student-friendly reading that explores shark anatomy, structure, and function, along with black-line and color templates that provide differentiation for varied learning levels. A guided PowerPoint presentation walks students through coloring, cutting, and assembling their own realistic, reusable 3-D shark model that they can “dissect” again and again.

Created to mimic a true dissection, this Scienstructable 3-D paper model can be used as a pre-lab introduction, a humane dissection-free exploration, or a post-lab assessment for comparative anatomy lessons at school or home. Students who opt out of dissection love the authentic hands-on experience, while others use it to preview or reinforce key concepts before real lab days.

All Inside Out Science dissection models include templates for both sexes (where applicable) and maintain a consistent organ color system across species, helping students visualize anatomical relationships and build deeper understanding through comparative biology.

TEACHERS LOVE IOS DISSECTION MODELS, HERE'S WHY:
❤️ Mario V. says, "I used this resource as a pre-lab to the actual dissections of the dogfish shark. My students found this helpful in locating organs and determining functions. Great resource!"

❤️ Kristen L. says, "This was great. My 12th grade homeschool student studied marine biology for the entire year. This was a great anatomical component of her studies. It was also really great preparation for hands-on dissection."

❤️ Sarah J. says, "Such a great resource to use before a dissection. My class loved putting this together & it was a great way to practice before our lab dissection. It was also a great tool for students to use as a review before our quiz. "
